Malamig Brew Episode 9: Bo's Coffee Sagada Arabica Cold Brew Review Philippines

A cocoa-forward Cordillera Arabica that earns the daily driver label

Sagada Arabica (Cold Bew)

Toasted grain on the nose, a bit herbal.

Slow start, milk chocolate comes up. Middle is more dark chocolate. Very pleasant, can see how it a crowd pleaser. Sweetness like brown sugar, a bit of fruit skin appearing subtly towards the end. Clean cup, quite enjoyable, easy drink. Not cloying, note heavy, very light. Not exactly goes down like tea because it is quite chocolate heavy. Even the finish is light. I’m picking out earthy milk chocolate.

So far this is my wife’s favorite bean. It’s not as strong or dominating or expressive as the others, but it’s an easy enjoyable cup, that is just the right amount of chocolate. More cocoa-forward vs the UCC Roast Master Arabica, that was more muted, more ‘kept’.

Of all the “base” coffees, this is probably the best. I can see it as a daily driver. I want to do a side by side with Brazil Capricornio.
