Reacher Season 4 No Spoiler Review: Alan Ritchson Still Carries It, But the Cheesy Dialogue Is Wearing the Show's Appeal Thin

Reacher poster

Alan Ritchson is still doing the heavy lifting on Reacher (2022) season 4, but the lazy dialogue and the fading mystery of the character have him worried the show’s appeal is wearing thin.

Season 4 keeps Ritchson in the title role, several years and three seasons removed from the quiet, mysterious giant who first showed up in season 1.

The dialogue can be lazy, TV-suspense stuff. But I’m still watching. I do miss season 1 Reacher, when he was just this mysterious giant who didn’t talk much. I’m afraid the show’s appeal is slowly dying.

Ritchson is carrying this franchise on his wide, burly shoulders. He should be the next Batman.

It was amusing to see Anggun (Snow on the Sahara) and Agnez Mo play two major characters.

The extra gory scenes, particularly in the season ender, were excellent. The fight scene between Reacher and the two main antagonists was also fun to watch. I’m willing to forgive the cheesy dialogue. The series works well as something you watch while you’re on your phone. At this point, I’ve become an Alan Ritchson fan.

I’ll probably still watch season 5, or at least start it. Ritchson will deliver, but he needs help from the producers and writers to keep season 5 interesting.

★★★☆☆.
